BONSAI KIRAKUEN
Bonsai Kirakuen is a bonsai garden located in Angyo, the historic horticultural district of Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture.
This area has been known since the Edo period as a center for plant cultivation and bonsai, and Kirakuen carries on that long-standing tradition and craftsmanship.
The garden is home to thousands of bonsai trees, ranging from large specimens over 100 years old to palm-sized pieces, all of which can be appreciated up close. Visitors can enjoy the changing expressions of the bonsai throughout the four seasons.
Casual bonsai-making workshops are also offered, allowing beginners to experience and learn about this traditional Japanese art form in a relaxed and enjoyable way.

BONSAI KIRAKUEN Owner:Seiji Iimura
Bonsai Kirakuen is located in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture, where the Iimura family has cultivated bonsai for generations. Seishi Iimura is the fifth-generation owner of the garden, continuing a long-standing family tradition.
The bonsai garden stands on land adjoining the former residence site of the Ina clan, regional governors of the Kanto area. Spanning approximately 1,500 tsubo (about 5,000 square meters), the garden is home to around 3,000 bonsai trees, each shaped and refined through many years of careful cultivation.
Seishi Iimura entered the world of bonsai in 1983 and has since exhibited repeatedly at the prestigious Kokufu-ten exhibition, earning selections over the years. He has also served internationally as a bonsai instructor and appraiser. His works have been exhibited at major events such as the 400th Anniversary Memorial Festival of Nikko Toshogu Shrine, as well as various exhibitions, receiving recognition from Kawaguchi City. While preserving tradition, he continues to pursue the highest level of bonsai artistry.
